If you have happy memories of Trigonos or any other training centre that you have attended with CMRP Bangor and you would like to build more, we would love to see you at a FoB (Friends of Bangor) event.

FoB Connection Event

Our next FoB Connection Event is going to be held at Greencoats, London SW1P 1RD, on Friday 29 September 2017 (10am – 1pm).  Members: £10; non-members £20.

Please feel free to contact Gill Johnson on mindfulelephant@gmail.com for more details or if you have any questions.

The FoB Connection Event is an opportunity for formal practice, reflection, connecting with your local mindfulness network and building links with CMRP and Bangor University. This event is offered in the same spirit as all mindfulness-based approaches with the intention to co-create our time together. We offer a forum for personal practice, discussion and a chance to communicate your thoughts on current movements within the field to each other and CMRP.  We look forward to welcoming you in this endeavour.

A practice day with Rebecca Crane – 9th December 2017

The FoB is very pleased to announce the first mindfulness practice day with Rebecca Crane.

Coming Home to Ourselves: A Day of Mindfulness Practice and Dialogue

with

Rebecca Crane

9:30am-4:30pm, 9th December 2017 at Wheldon Building, Bangor University

The work of Friends of Bangor is to support connection. This day of practice will ground this work of connection in the immediacy of the arising of experience moment-by-moment, somatically, cognitively and affectively. We will come together as a community to draw on the supportive container that community offers to our practice.  The guided practices will build our capacities to connect more intimately with ourselves, offering us the ground for our work of authentically connecting with each other.

Part of the day will be in silence as we engage with the core practices that are part of the mindfulness-based programmes. Through the lens of these practices we will have the opportunity to personally investigate experience. There will be time towards the end of the day to engage together in dialogue about our experiences of the day.

Outline of the day:

0900-0930 registration

0930-1230 practice (including a short break)

1230-1330 silent lunch (bring your packed lunch – water/coffee/tea provided)

13:30-15:30 practice  (including a short break)

15:30-16:30 informal connection and networking

Rebecca Crane, PhD, MA, PFHEA, DipCot directs the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University and has played a leading role in its development since it was founded in 2001. She has written Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy: The CBT Distinctive Features Series; Routledge, 2009.

We are delighted to be able to offer this day to non-FoB members as well.
